This past weekend marks the first time our son has gotten sick other than the pneumonia the first week of his life. Sunday morning he woke up with a fever that just kept climbing to 102 by mid-day. We had our party that night but luckily the Infant Ibuprofen broke the fever and he would return almost back to his old self. Just like clockwork it returned every 4 hours. It seems so normal for babies to get fevers (because it is!) but when it's your child for the first time you panic a little bit. When it rose to 104 I started to worry; his pediatrician whom I called earlier that day said it's perfectly fine but anything over 104 and I should call back, or if he acts listless, won't take liquids, and/or lethargic. The problem was that it was a holiday weekend. We still had a day and half longer before the doctor could see us. His fever did pretty much stay at 104 for the next 36 hours but I gave him meds, a cold compress, and liquids as much as I could. We went this morning to the pediatrician's and it turns out it's a virus. It's hard to imagine but your little baby being so miserable is just heartbreaking. LOL, I won't lie when I say I cried when he started acting funny and his temp would rise to 104! Hey, I only cried once and it was not in front of him
I'm just ready for my little man to feel better!
