Haha, ok so would you like to hear the current pregnancy ailment? So I guess as you get further along in the pregnancy, as the baby develops and becomes larger, it can really bother many women's sciatic nerve. In the past, I was an avid exerciser ( I mean crazy, like two times a day...seriously, who has time for that?!). Due to so much exercise I enflamed my sciatic nerve to the point where I had to take a few weeks off in order for it to calm down. The thing is, that nerve can cause some real problems. I need to do more research but I believe it starts in the gluteus maximus and the nerve travels all the way down the back of your thigh and can even cause problems into your foot. It hasn't caused serious pain since I was in college doing those excessive twice a day workouts. Even when I was working out a lot with Jenny Craig it didn't flare up very often. It seemed that when it did, if I took a day off, stretched, and iced it, it would go away. In the past two weeks that nerve has flared up with a vengeance. Now I will admit, the exercise has increased. By increased I mean it went from nonexistant to every other day usually only for about 25 minutes. However, I guess that baby is putting a lot of pressure on the nerve and now for what appears to be no reason it will send horrible shocks of pain from my rear end all the way to my foot. It could be something as little as getting in and out of the car, walking, or getting up and down from my chair! This morning the pain was randomly so bad when I grabbed for my purse that it almost crippled me. This cannot mean good things are yet to come for this obnoxious nerve! Any experiences you can share or ways to alleve the pain?
